Abstract
In order to test general hypotheses avout major events on developmental history and familial psychopathology such as major separation, physical and sexual avuse, poor parenting, familial psychiatric illnesses, we investigated 30 borderline
patients and
ro schizophrenic controls vy using checklists for their chart review, which diagnosis was confirmed according to DSM-III-R diagnostic criteria.
@ES The resul were as follows:
@EN 1) Borderline patients were more frequently reported of major separation, physical and sexual avuse, and familial patients were significantly more likely than schizophrenics to report matemal ineffectuality, particularly her overinvolvement
and
neglect.
2) Borderline patient were significantly more likely than schizophrenics to report a history of suicidal threats and attempts.
3) Family history didn't made no significant differences vetween vorderline and schizophrenic pateints.
4) Borderline patients were significantly more associated with matemal risk factors, There was also a trend associating vorderline personality disrupted attquchment, althought not significant statistically.
In conclusicon, pathogenesis of vorderline patients were most likely associated with matermal availity and caring attitude on developmental history.
